Eega Business Down By 50%

Rajamouli-directed film Eega was released in limited number of screens in USA due to unavailablity of cinema halls and the movie had single show on several screens in the openingweek. So the makers increased the number of shows onseveral screens and also released it in 20 more cinema halls. They expected it to fetch even better collection than the last Friday.
But to their disappointment, Eega has failed to meet theircalculations in the country on the second Friday. Sudeep-Samantha starrer movie has collected Rs 39 lakhs ($ 70,744) at the USA Box Office on the second Friday. Its business has fallen down by more than 50%. With this, the film has grossed a total of Rs 4.02 crores ($ 730,457) in nine days of its release in the country.
Whereas Billa 2 and Cocktail, which hit the screens in USA this Friday, have opened to an earth shattering response on the first day of their release in the country
Both the movies have surely affected the collection of Eega on their opening day in the country

Eega US collections to cross 1 Million USD soon

‘Eega’, the graphical extravaganza of the year, is all set to register a storming US Box Office figure in its long run. If the same momentum sustains for another week or so, it should comfortably register a figure in excess of 1 Million USD very soon.
The response to the film has been overwhelmingly positive since the first day itself. The per location average for the movie is much higher than the previous best logged by a Telugu movie. Let us wait and see to what heights ‘Eega’ soars into the sky with its collections.

‘Eega’ 3D In 5 Languages

The buzz that ‘Eega’ has been creating has been reaching new territories and new records. So far, the Telugu and Tamil versions have been received very well. Just recently it was reported that the Hindi version will also be there by December and that too in the 3D format. It is titled as ‘Makki’.
But here is another addition to it. The 3D version of ‘Eega’ is coming to south as well. Yes, news is that the makers have decided to release the up close version in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada as well. As such, the cost to be incurred for this move may not be much because it is only the visual aspect which has to change.
If this is true then this will answer all those who were commenting on whether ‘Eega’ will have repeat audience. On the other hand, the film will get enough muscle to race for the top grosser slot in Tollywood. Well, it is time again to start speculating on whether ‘Eega’ will take on ‘Gabbar Singh’ or not.

Eega USA screen number to be raised

Director SS Rajamouli’s latest Telugu movie Eega, which was released on July 5 in the USA, has received an overwhelming response at the collection centres in the country. The film has even beaten the Bollywood film Bol Bachchan there. But the makers of the film do not seem to be satisfied with it. They have decided to increase the number of screens in the country.

Eega has reportedly been released on 31 screens, while its Tamil version Naan Ee hit 8 screens in the USA. On many screens, the movie has only one show a day. According to reports, this disappointed the producer of Eega, who wanted to release it on more number of screens, but could not do so due to unavailability of cinema halls.

Reports suggest that Eega was not released in a few potential stations like Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Miami, Kansas City, Denver, etc., on Tuesday, 10 July. It was due to The Amazing Spider Man and The Avengers, which have occupied most of the screens as it was a long weekend (US Independence Day). Moreover, Eega has only one show a day in places like Detroit, where a big Telugu cinema will have at least 3 shows a day.

Eega has collected Rs 3.64 crores at the USA Box Office in the first weekend. The per screen average collection of Eega is not only higher than any other big Telugu, Tamil and Bollywood film, but also other Hollywood films. Reports reveal that Eega’s screen average (17,000) is much higher than that of The Amazing Spider Man, Dabangg (12,664) and Dookudu (12,444) in the first weekend.

However, Eega producers have now planned to release it in 20 more centers in USA on 13 July. Another good news is that they will also increase the number of shows in several business centers like Detroit.

It is expected to continue its rocking collection in the USA. But this Friday, another big Bollywood film Coctail is hitting the screens. Now, it should be seen whether Eega will beat this film also at the USA Box Office

Replying to RGV, Rajamouli wrote, “@RGVzoomin sir, first thing first! Your first tweet is completely ignored!!! And I will never forget your encouragement & pushing& nudging (sic).”

However, Eega has done wonderful collection at the Box Office in India and across the globe. All versions of the movie have done wonders at the collection centres. Eega Movie Review,Eega Movie Ratings,Nani,Samantha,Sudeep Eega Review,Eega Movie First show Response,Eega telugu movie directed by Rajmouli

Eega Movie Review : 3.75/5
Banner: Varahi Cine Chitra
Cast: Nani, Samantha, Sudeep and others
Art: S. Ravinder
Editing: Kotagiri Venkateswar Rao
Cinematography: Senthil
Music: MM Keeravani
Producer: Sai Korrapati and Suresh Babu
Story-Screenplay-Direction: SS Rajamouli
CBFC rating: U/A
Release date: 06-07-2012

Synopsis:

Eega is a live action graphical film has an animated character ‘House Fly’ in protagonist role. The story of the movie is villain Sudeep kills hero Nani (Nani).Bindu (Samantha) is love interest of Nani in the movie. Hero is later reborn as Eega (fly). Eega happens to remember what happened in it’s last birth. The rest of the story is about Eega’s indomitable effort irritate villain and take revenge on him.

How they performed?

Acting in a movie directed by Tollywood’s most successful director Rajamouli is almost once in a life time offer for Nani and he had done full justice to his character. According to the demand of the script, his role is very limited in the movie. Yet he made his mark. Samantha is too good on screen just like a girl in the next door. However, the good performances of these two were dominated by the stupendous performance of Sudeep. He delivered an extraordinary performance blend with perfect emotions. Well done matey!

Taagubothu Ramesh comedy track is hilarious,Rest of the characters are okay.

Technical Performances:

A product like Eega is a first of its kind in Tollywood and the output can not be attributed to one person. Its a collective effort of Direction, VFX team, Editing team, Sound effects. Eega is the resultant of such wonderful teams worked together. The hardwork of the people in the picture and sound department is clearly visible. Senthil had rocked with superb cinematography. Keeravani is unarguably the best BGM composer in the current generation and he had lived up to the expectations. Senior Editor Kotagiri Venkateswar Rao did a good job.

Rajamouli is one director every producer is ready to give a blank cheque and wait for 20 years to make a movie with him. Rajamouli is a director every star hero would keep his current commitments aside for a movie with him. Such a director had change his path after delivering an industry hit. He did a comedy film with Sunil as the lead role and now he chose an insignificant fly as protagonist and made a convincing movie with it. Interestingly, he is able to generate the same amount of buzz as a star movie with it. He got every thing right from his part – the story, screenplay, taking, narration. He extracted everything that is required from the cast and crew of the movie.

It is not easy acting in a scene where you do not see the other actor, You will have to visualize the scene in your mind and to strike the imagination chord in every artist requires tremendous story telling talent and perfect screenplay and exactly here, Finally, Eega is a very honest attempt by Rajamouli and team. Their hard work is seen in every frame of the movie. Truly a path breaking movie in Telugu cinema. This movie is first of its kind and the box office prediction is not so easy. We will have to wait for the audience reaction to know the box office result of the movie.

Final Say:

The first half of the movie is okay. The last 20 minutes leading to intervals is very convincingly conceived. The second half of the movie is a good blend of emotion and revenge formula with several trade mark Rajamouli scenes.

Eega started buzzing

Eega is the sci-fi graphical extravaganza of director SS Rajamouli, who is quite confident on the movie that is slated to release worldwide in 3 languages Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam tomorrow, on July 6th.

Makers are fairly expecting Eega to make huge at the box-office.
