Maestro Ilayaraja composed Naandha Ungoppanda…. is to be included in the medley to be performed during the inauguration of Olympics taking place on July 27, 2012.
Naandha Ungoppanda track was crooned by SP Bala Subramanyam that was penned by lyricist Vaali in the early 1981, for the film Ram Lakshman featuring Kamal Hassan and Supriya in the lead roles. The sponsors of Olympics have released a list of songs that will be played during the Olympics inauguration. Ilayaraja-SPB’s Naandha Ungoppanda is one among the 86 songs choose from different languages on the theme of ‘Back to Basics’.
Danny Boyle, the director of Slum Dog Millionaire is the creative head for developing this inauguration show. Fans of Ilayaraja are glad with the news, but we have to wait till the final mix of the medley is completely done, to know further updates about the progress.
